  • Due to its material properties, cast iron is very heavy. It is precisely this characteristic feature that ensures the optimal function of the cookware: excellent heat absorption and heat storage as well as excellent energy efficiency.

  • Yes it is dishwasher safe but deserves the love & care of a good handwash. It's super easy to clean. Make sure to use nylon or soft abrasive pads, as metallic pads and abrasive cleaning agents can damage the enamel.

  • Cast iron cookware should be placed on a cold stove top. The hob and cookware should be heated to medium temperature at the same time.

  • For good cooking results with Le Creuset cast iron, you should always set low or medium temperatures. Cast iron stores heat very well, so it can happen that the food sticks or burns in high heat. In addition, energy is wasted

    Le prix peut effrayer, mais cette cocotte le vaut.
    Superbe qualité, très beau rendu. Cela fait maintenant 2 ans que je l'ai, et elle est toujours nickel, ça ne bouge pas dans le temps. Ni l'intérieur, ni l'extérieur. Je la nettoie avec le vert de mon éponge si besoin, la met au lave-vaisselle régulièrement, ça ne s'abime pas.

    Je m'en sers pour faire toutes sortes de plats mijotés et y laisser cuire pendant des heures sans que je sois devant. Aucun soucis de perte de vapeur pendant la cuisson et grande inertie de température. Le plus petit feu réglé au minimum sous la cocotte permet de maintenir une légère ébullition.

    Elle est simple et efficace. Pas besoin des "nouvelles technologies" illusoires comme les picots sous le couvercles qui permettent sois-disant de ré-arroser le plat qui mijote pendant la cuisson.

    Je suis donc très content d'avoir et d’utiliser ce produit robuste, français et très beau. Quand ma cocotte n'est pas sur le feu, elle arbore fièrement une étagère de ma cuisine.

    Nb : Globalement on peut faire à manger pour 6 dans la dimension que j'ai pris.
