Le Creuset cast iron is enameled, and therefore does not require seasoning like traditional raw cast iron.

Although it may be washed in the dishwasher, hand washing is recommended to preserve the enamel's shine. Hand washing will also preserve the patina of pieces with the matte black interior enamel. The patina enhances cooking results and should not be scrubbed off.

I bought this set a month ago and one of the items in the set ( particularly the 1.5L saucepan has lots of rust on the lid and on the saucepan itself). I contacted the Support Center and assigned a return merchandise authorization number, RMA-130923, to my claim and that I will receive an email directly from UPS Quantum with a return label. Simply print the label and attach it to your package, then drop it off at your nearest UPS location. I was also told to best assist with my return, we ask that you please send your item(s) back within 2 weeks; if at that time it is not received, we will consider your claim resolved and your RMA will be cancelled. I sent them photos of the lid and saucepan with the visible rust. HOW COULD THAT BE WHEN I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY RETURN LABEL FROM UPS QUANTUM AND THE WEEK IS GOING SO FAST!!! I sent them an email a day after, telling them that I haven’t received any return label. NO RESPONSE FROM LE CREUSET SO I SENT TEM AN EMAIL THAT I WILL SEND THE ITEM THROUGH UPS AT MY OWN EXPENSE!!! LET’S SEE IF I GOT THE REPLACEMENT ON THIS!!!

Beautiful but small

I have enjoyed cooking with the Dutch Oven so far. I bought the 3 piece set with dutch oven, saucepan and skillet. I didn't realize how small the skillet and saucepan were though, if I could do it all over I would have bought the larger pieces individually. We are a family of 4 and they are just too small for most applications I would use them for. The Dutch oven is the real star of the show though. It worked very well to make risotto. I would definitely recommend lecreuset to my friends however I would not recommend this set unless you are single or only cook very small meals.

Horrible experience

I am completely unsatisfied with the customer service and lack of transparency with this company. I bought 5 different pots and pans from this website and before doing so I made sure to look at the Return policy page on the website it clearly states you have 45 days to return any product you are unsatisfied with for a refund, however they neglect to tell you on the Return page that the Return shipping is the customers responsibility and will be at your own cost. I was not completely satisfied with the purchase so I contacted Customer service and it was only then that I found out I would have to pay to ship my return back to LE Creuset, which ended up being $150 due to how heavy the cast iron pots are. I even repurchased from this website before I knew this return policy but never again. I hope they make this right and reimburse me the shipping cost since they do not disclose this on the Return policy page listed on the website

Don’t do it.

Shipping was inaccurate and customer service was I competent. The pans are already scratched even though I’ve babies them to the full extent. I expected so much more from the brand… I saved my money to finally purchase them and I fell like I’ve been scammed. Literally the bargain brand Dutch oven I have looks better than the one I bought from Le Crueset. Highly disappointed with not only the quality but the customer service. Really left a nasty taste in my mouth.

Wish They Could Get My Return Right

I have owned Le Crueset cookware and wanted to gift the 5-piece set to my daughter who recently moved into her own home. I ordered the "Shallot" set. The set was delivered on September 12th and my daughter quickly realized it was the wrong color. Every piece was "Flame." I contacted customer service to submit a return and replace request. I received the shipping label and instructions. My daughter returned the set. On October 16th, my daughter finally received the replacement set. Upon her dismay, the 5-piece set was again in the wrong color--Flame. I have once again contacted customer service to submit a return request. If they can't get it right, this time, I'm done. It's truly unfortunate because I love the quality of cookware, but refuse to pay for the wrong color.

Defective

I bought this set from William Sonoma. Tried to write a review on their website, but my review time period expired. So it took over a year to actually get my order. I just noticed today, on the Dutch oven I've used maybe 5 times. There is already a chip along the edge. Each pot I've ordered came with similar small chips along the edge, which I didn't think much of at first, but now it's starting to oxidize on those little areas. It's so disappointing considering how expensive these are. I had an issue with one of the pot handles also and although they tout a lifetime warranty, they make you jump through hoops before they honor it. And you will pay for the return shipping which is expensive because of how heavy these are. I've had these literally less than a year and I regret buying them. I've followed all care and use instructions. Guess the quality just isn't what it apparently used to be.

Not happy with my purchase. I've seen enamel applied better on cheaper alternatives. The thickness of the dutch oven is not even. One side is thicker than the other, making it prone to cracking. You're not buying quality, you are just buying the name. Going to try to return the item and buy a different brand.
